Benjamin Reams Obituary

Benjamin R. Reams, Doctor of Pharmacy of Sevierville passed away Friday September 13, 2024 at Lt. Conte Medical Center.

Ben was born in Morristown, TN on 9-21-1938 to the late William Blair and Gertrude Reams. He is preceded in death by his brother William Blair Reams and niece Karen Perrenot.

Left to cherish Ben's memory are his wife Ruth Ann of 36 years, children Charles Todd Thompson (Janie) Michael Thompson, Theresa Brown, Dana Weiand, Ben R. Reams Jr., grandchildren Blair Dyke, Sophia Dyke, Anna Thompson, Mattie Thompson, Bascom Blair Brown and nieces Pam Mikesell,

LuAnn Heins(Dave) and beloved sister-in-law Sarah Volkmann.

Ben graduated Morristown High School class of 1956 and received his Doctorate from University of UT. Reams Drug Store was a staple in our community for many years. Ben retired 1995 to pursue his favorite pastime playing golf. Creating perfect itineraries for world travel kept him busy as well.

We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and everyone in the ICU, emergency room, and step down unit. We appreciate the compassionate, loving care at Lt Conte. Ben was so pleased to finally see our beautiful hospital and the Dr. Thomas professional building and the memorial with Dr. Thomas's medicine bag that Ben filled so many times.

A private family service was held September 17, with full military honors.

As is a tale so is a life. Not how long it is, but how good it is - is what matters.
