Betty Jane (Baxter) Allen

Betty Jane Allen, 87, of Newport, TN, passed away peacefully in her home on July 15, 2024. She will be remembered for being a homemaker and her joy of gardening and flowers. She grew up helping her late husband with the farm and the animals, which blossomed into her love of the outdoors. She babysat for all of the family’s little ones in her spare time, along with working seasonal jobs.  Betty was also a member of English Creek Baptist Church.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Allen; her parents, Lela and Carmack Baxter; sisters, Mary Baxter, Carolyn Baxter, Dean Allen and brothers, Ralph Baxter, John Baxter, Lee Baxter, E.C. Baxter, and Hart Baxter.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Allen and Tammy (Allen) Tucker, sisters, Patsy (Baxter) Martin and Brenda (Baxter) Shults; grandchildren, Drew Valentine, Shelby Tucker Adams, Hannah Nicole Goan, Courtney Belmont, Jonathan Leland Lewis, and Hailey Douglas and great-grandchildren, Adelyn Caleigh Lewis, Tucker Valentine, Kamlyn Valentine, Kendree Crumb, Karyson Valentine, Teddi Jane Adams, Camden Douglas, and Ruby Belmont.

A graveside service will be held at Baxter-Templin Cemetery in Newport, TN on Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at 11:00 am.
