Brenda "Darlene" Taylor

Brenda Darlene Taylor of Newport, known as “Darlene”, passed away Monday January 30, 2023. Darlene was born October 8, 1960 to the late A.D. and Margaret Messer. Darlene was a caring mother, wife, nana, sister and friend.  She is survived by her husband Arvine Taylor; sons, Chris Smith and Jason (Tonya) Smith; very precious grandchildren, Addy, Alyssa, Micah, and Zavery.  Darlene will be missed by her sisters, Patricia Sisk and Teresa Messer; brothers, Cecil Messer, Mikey Messer and David (Penny) Messer; stepson Dewayne Taylor; grandchildren, Ashlyn and Hailey and great-grandchildren, Hadley, Harlow and Keaton. She will also be dearly missed by her lifelong friend Kathy Webb, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other friends.

Family and friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Franklin Wine officiating; burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
