H. Carroll Fox, originally from Newport, TN, and a resident of Knoxville for the past eight years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on June 22, 2025, at the age of 83.Carroll retired from Tennessee Children’s Services, where his commitment to the wellbeing of others left a lasting impression. He was a true craftsman and enthusiast—known for his skill in restoring not only antique cars, but also antique furniture. His hands were steady, precise, and guided by a deep appreciation for things built to last.
A devoted Atlanta Braves fan, Carroll found great joy watching games with his beloved wife Sandra and their loyal dog Buddy by his side. His quiet smile—rare, but coy—was a treasured sight for those lucky enough to catch it. He was known for his strong will, honest words, and dry sense of humor, all delivered with a twinkle in his eye.
Carroll was married to Sandra Dawson Fox, his wife of 58 years. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family. He is survived by their three daughters and sons-in-law: Katrina (Jeff Wernick), Karla (Josh Albritton), and Kerri (Micah DeVault); and six grandchildren who brought him endless pride and delight: Rylan, Caden, Collin, Oliver, Brittan, and Ireland.
He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Jimmy and Maurice Fox; as well as four nieces and two nephews. A special thank you goes to his nephew Alan Fox for the care and support he provided in recent years.
He will be remembered for his steady hands, sharp wit, and the quiet strength he carried through life.
Service will be held Wednesday June 25th, 2025 at Resthaven Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Funeral at 4:00PM with entombment to follow.
