Curtis Blaine Hudson Sr.

 Curtis Blaine Hudson, Sr. age 79 of Dandridge, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024.  

Born May 5, 1945 to Carl Dean Hudson, Sr. and Sue Hartsell Hudson of Newport.  He grew up learning the value of hard work and the importance of family.  He went on to serve in the United States Army and  completed tours in Germany and Vietnam.  He retired from Joseph Construction and worked as the Jefferson County Veterans Service Officer until his death. He enjoyed serving others in the community especially veterans and their loved ones. He loved spending time with his family and being with his friends at Owen’s Restaurant. He was a member of the Dandridge Lions and Kiwanis Clubs, and he was a member of the JCHS Football Sideline Club for a number of years.  He served as Commander of the Dandridge VFW Post 3380 and the State Commander of the Tennessee VFW.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Sue Hudson; sister Carolyn Johnson and brother Carl Hudson Jr.; Barbara Hudson (mother to Shad Hudson and Sylvia Tharp).

He is survived by his wife Charlene Hudson and loyal dog Nellie; son Curtis Hudson Jr. (Elisabeth); daughter Brandy Hudson Arnold (Tommy); Anna Hudson (mother of Curtis Jr. and Brandy); daughter Sylvia Hudson Tharp (Jeff); son Shad Hudson; Grandchildren Emma Hudson, Cate Hudson, Natalie Arnold, Grant Arnold, Hudson Arnold, Ashley Tharp Long (Corey), Austin Tharp (Nicole); Great grandchildren Kenzlee Long and Karter Long and several nieces,nephews and cousins.

Services will be held Monday June 17, 2024 at Resthaven Chapel Mausoleum visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A grave side funeral service with military honors will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Mike Moffat officiating.
