Darius Edward Holt

Darius Edward Holt Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and dedicated Marine, passed away on March 10, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on September 20, 1940, he lived a life defined by service, love, and unwavering strength.

A proud Lance Corporal III in the United States Marine Corps, Darius exemplified honor and commitment both in and out of uniform.

Darius’s greatest pride, however, was his family. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Donna Holt, and together they built a legacy of love and resilience. He was a devoted father to Tonya Ailor, Susan Hartsell (Ronnie), Brianna Cole (Randy), and Darius Edward Holt Jr. (Mikayla). His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with Bryce Ailor, Ashley Capehart, Linleigh Cole, Ayden Cole, and Finley Holt, as well as his three great-grandchildren: Layla, Witten, and Caroline. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burnett and Ortell Holt; his brother, Vreeland Holt; and his precious granddaughter, Linleigh. Though their absence was deeply felt, Darius carried their memory with him always. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Holt, and a family that will forever honor his legacy of love and laughter. 

Darius was a man of quiet strength and deep perseverance, always willing to lend a hand and give his family everything he could. His presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him. Though he has left this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched.

A celebration of his life will be held to honor his memory and the incredible impact he had on his family, friends, and community. While he will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that he is in peace and in the arms of Jesus now.
