David "Troy" self

David Troy Self of Newport age 95 passed on December 6, 2025. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church for 41 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rosa Moore Self; parents David and Leona Self; brothers Jim Self, Tom Self, Frank Self; sisters; Charlotte Reese and Shirley Self; son – in – law Robert Wheeler.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Annette Self; Children John (Rita) Self, Jack (Sandee) Self, Jerry (Nora Lee) Self, Debbie Wheeler, Tim Self, Rose Mary Self. Eleven grandchildren; Joe Self, Jordy (Susie) Self, Jason (Ann) Self, Eddie (Chrissy) Self, Cody ((Allyson Averett) Self, Elizabeth (Jacob) Holt, Robbie (Jessica) Wheeler, Mickie (Kellie) Wheeler, Thomas (Christy) Self, Brandon (Lacie) Hopson, Sara (Jonathan) Hawkins, 18 great grandchildren. Two great- great grandchildren; Sisters Beulah Ledford, Ann Arrington, numerous nieces, and nephews and companion his pet dog Charlie.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health; especially Garrett and Taylor for all they did, and all his caregivers especially Cindy Mack for all her help.

Services will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Tuesday December 9, 2025. The Family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm prior to the funeral service starting at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the Moore Family Cemetery in Del Rio, Tn.
