Dorothy Jean Smith

Dorothy Smith, age 76, of Newport, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022. Dorothy was a teacher at Northwest Elementary school for over 30 years. Teaching was her life. Dorothy is preceded in death by parents, Guy and Vivian Smith; brother, Jimmy “Beardy” Smith.  Survived by nephew, “Little” Jimmy Smith; nieces, Julie Braddock, and Lisa Green; great nephews, Andrew and Adam Smith; sister-in-law, Teresa Smith; niece, Cindy Lewis; Special friends Johnnie Sue, and Carol; many great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:45 am, for a 12:00 pm graveside service, Reverend Jerry Sutton officiating. Resthaven Funeral Home is honored to serve the Smith family.
