Elgiva Moss Mitchell

Elgiva Moss Mitchell, age 74, of Newport, TN., passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022. Elgiva was an avid reader. She was a strong-willed woman that always spoke her mind, and fiercely loved her family. She is preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Sarah Shelton; first husband, George “Tom” Moss; daughter, Teresa Moss; granddaughter, Roxann Purkey; several brother and sisters. Elgiva is survived by husband, Charles Mitchell; son, Randy (Tammy) Moss; daughters, Cyndi (Jerry) Coffey, Stephanie (Bobby Long); sisters, Nina Grisham, Debbie Poarch, Ethel Cagle; brother, John Shelton; 12 plus grandchildren; 20 plus grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Service will be held on Thursday at St. Paul Cemetery in Morristown. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am on Thursday, February 17, 2022, for an 11:00 am graveside service at St. Paul Cemetery, Pastor Frank Allen officiating.
