Ellen U. Fassel, 85, of Dandridge, Tennessee passed peacefully into God’s hands in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 18, 2023. Born Ellen Huber in Buffalo, New York on November 29, 1937, she graduated from Bishop McMahon High School.
Ellen was the devoted and loving wife of her spouse, Raymond, for 67 years. Together they raised their two sons in West Seneca N.Y., dad working on the railroad while mom drove school bus through the unrelenting snows of the Lake Erie area. Friends and family always knew that mom would have their favorite food prepared for them when they were coming to visit. Aside from her strength, endurance, and unwavering love over the years, she also had time to become a talented, award winning artist in her own right. A true Renaissance woman, she will be greatly missed, forever revered, and always loved.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond J. Fassel, Sr., two sons, Raymond J. Fassel, Jr. (Christie) and John J. Fassel (Cynthia), two grandsons, Raymond J. Fassel, III (Chelsea), and Mitchell Fassel (Jessica), one granddaughter, Gina Wininger, and eight great grandchildren. A Spring memorial is planned.
Mom, Rest in Peace with God. We love you.
