Genevieve Dodson

Genevieve Dodson (Hilton), 84, of Dandridge, TN, passed away on September 11, 2024, amongst her loving family.

Today we lost the best grandma. As we reflect on her memory, we try to remind ourselves that she is no longer in pain and can be with her husband and sons in Heaven now. We still cannot help but feel like a piece of our family is missing. She was soft-hearted, sensitive, nice, caring, loving and so much more. She liked reading books and shared that hobby with her granddaughter Amber. She enjoyed putting together puzzles. She will be remembered for always having those lovey dovey soap operas on TV and would make sure everyone was quiet. Genevieve and her daughter Teresa would talk about their soap characters as if they were people they knew. She also enjoyed slot machines at the casinos and bingo nights! Green and yellow were her colors, and coffee and water were her favorite drinks. She always wanted everyone in the family to get along and was the peacemaker for everyone.  Even when she was told to discipline the grandkids she could only ever give them a light touch. She loved spoiling her grandkids. She loved the holidays when all the family would come together. Everyone will always have many cherished memories of Genevieve.

A visitation for Genevieve will be held on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in the Chapel Mausoleum. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm with entombment to follow.
