Gerhard Piehler Obituary

In loving memory of Gerhard J. Piehler, born in Munich Germany, Gerhard came to the United States with his parents Ludwig and Hermine and his twin sister Gabriele. Gerhard attended high school in Illinois where he played football and excelled in wrestling as a state champion. His love of painting was also started during his high school years. Upon graduation from high school he entered the United States Air Force. After 4 years of faithful service, he returned home to begin civilian life.

Gerhard is survived by his twin sister Gabriele Piehler, his 3 children Derrick Godin, Elizabeth Piehler (Brandon Aper), Kathryn Piehler and two stepchildren Grant Villireal and Felisha Karroum.

His professional life consisted of being a member of the Anchor Packaging management team where he led the Inline Division. Gerhard was greatly admired and developed a close relationship with his Inline team and affectionately called them his “warriors”. Gerhard considered many co-workers part of his family.

Gerhard was a member of Life church in Paragould, Arkansas. He had a profound love of God which was evident in his strong faith and giving heart which showed through the lives of the many people he touched.

Gerhard was often described as being larger than life, his passion for adventure led to his love of travel, skiing, scuba diving and hiking. This passion for adventure allowed for little reservation when trying different cuisines which led to his love of food. He rightfully considered himself a “Grill Master”.

Gerhard enjoyed life to the fullest whether hunting, shooting or showing friends his gun collection. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with friends and family.

Gerhard loved the family home in the Smokey Mountains where he peacefully went to meet his mother and father in heaven surrounded by his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of life will be planned in the coming months. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Life Church in Paragould, Arkansas or The Community Outreach Program at Anchor Packaging.
