Jeff Wilson, age 57, of Talbott, TN, born July 31, 1967, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at his home, with his wife by his side, after battling stage 4 cancer.
He was a loving husband, son, brother, nephew, and will dearly be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and Ivy Trent, Willie and Elva Wilson, father RS Wilson, brothers Tommy and Bedford Alan “Smokie” Wilson, uncles Anthony Trent, Allen Turner, AJ Wilson, Bill Wilson, Rufus and aunt Leon Wilson, cousins ,Kerry Minor, Jackie Wilson. Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Donald and Joyce McKinney.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Debbie Wilson, mother Dianne Trent, brother Travis Wilson, sister April Campbell, nephews AJ Campbell, Tommy Stepp, niece Serenity Wilson, aunts/uncles Judy (Bedford) Collins, Doris (Wayne) LaFever, Paul (Debbie) Trent, Sharon Turner, Dwight Wilson, David Wilson, Susie (Barry) Brooks, Brother-in-Law Donnie (Balinda) McKinney, Jr, two nieces on his wife’s side Gabrielle (Larry) Waldron, Moriah (Casey) Smith, 2 great nieces Adley & Hallie Smith, 2 great nephews Micah & Cutler Waldron, and several cousins.
He professed to be saved as a young child and became a member of Duck Creek Baptist Church in Sneedville. In later years while dating and after marrying, he also attended Westview Baptist Church in Morristown.
Jeff had a passion for sport cars, NASCAR Racing, and was known for his love of shooting firework shows at various places, both in Tennessee and West Virginia. He loved all animals, but his favorites were his cats Peppy and Moe.
He was previously employed by Liberty Tax, and MAHLE where he met many life-long friends.
The family would like to express special thanks to UT Home Health, UT Home Palliative Care, and Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice for keeping him comfortable, and providing care to him over the last several months.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Morristown, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Steve Gamble, and Rev. Alan Lamb will sing. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Jarnagin Cemetery in Morristown for the interment.
