John H Belda

John H. Belda, age 81, of Newport, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 19, 2025

John was a retired Electrical Estimator. He was extremely talented at his job and was one of the best old school estimators in East TN. He supervised many large projects in and around Knoxville. He served as Vice President of Altas Electric and Funderburk Electrical in Knoxville, TN.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years Margaret ‘Skimp’ Belda, his parents Flora Tana Belda (nee Granruth) and Alex Anthony Belda, and his sons John “Opie” Belda and Glenn Belda.

He is survived by his sisters Mary (Jim) Anderson, Ruth (Larry) Belda, Brother-in-law Troy “Tad” (Pat) Thornton, Sister-in-laws Judy Thornton, Valerie Thornton. Daughters: Tina (Mike) Sexton, Kathryn (Steve) Jaffray. Sons: Andrew (Cathy) Belda, Matthew (Frankie) Belda, and Richard Dick; grandchildren Angie Williams, Jeremiah Dick, Tyler Dick, Ashley Sexton-Gaskill, Dr. Heather Sexton, Emily Sexton, Brittany Belda, Jacob James, Destiny James, Lexie Belda, Brooke Elmore, Nicole Campbell, Nicholas Belda, Dylan Belda, Carter Jaffray and Nate Jaffray as well as many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews

Family will gather for an intimate graveside service in March 2026.
