Joy Ann (Black) Clevenger

Joy Clevenger, 68, of Newport, passed away on August 8, 2024. Joy was born and raised in Newport. She will be remembered for her love of all things UT sports, including a UT themed Christmas tree she loved to put up. She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of the children as their Nana Joy. She also loved her late furbaby, Tyson.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Rhoda Black; Arlie Black; Ronald Black; Chris Black; Shirley Coggins; Vinita Coggins; Barbara Webb; and late husband, David Brown.

She is survived by her children, Denise (Adam) Peak, Brandon (Kim) Brown, and Randy Brown; grandchildren, Dagan Peak, Kyra Brown, Braylee Brown, Davian Brown, Gracie Green, Kaden Brown, Kiley Brown, Jake Ball, Jada Lampkin, Asher Stokley, and Brody Williams; great-grandchildren, Aria Smith and Kyree Smith; sisters, Patsy Ford and Wanda Benton; and sisters-in-law,  Tammy Black and Zola Black.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 12th at 5pm at Black Chapel Church in Grassy Fork. Danny Green will be officiating.
