Lewis Everette Davis

Lewis Everette Davis, age 94, of Dandridge, TN peacefully passed away at home on Monday, May 12, 2025.  Lewis the son of Bunyan and Mavis Davis was born in Clayton, NC on September 1, 1930.  He was a retired veteran of 28 years of services where he proudly served his country in both the US Navy and US Air Force.  He was very honored at his time spent overseas in Japan that he often spoke of.  After retiring from the military, he worked in the trucking business for many years.  Lewis was a member of Greenhill Baptist Church in Dandridge.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; Bunyan and Mavis Davis; sons Lewis Davis Jr., and Barry Davis; brother Bill Davis; sisters Margaret Hollemon, and Audrey Crocker and step son Tim Booher.

He leaves behind the love of his life Dorothy “Dot” Davis; daughters Donna (Gary) Matthews, and Connie (Philip) Harward; step son Charles (Dara) Booher; grandchildren Brandon Matthews, Tad (Michelle) Davis, Lindsey (Josh) Blackburn, and Tyler Harward; five great grandchildren; special friends Butch (Denise) Loflin and Patsy Gann, special neighbors Rob and Lena Jude and many other good friends.

The family would like to say Thank you to the nurses from Amedisys Hopice of Morristown who took such great care of Lewis in his final days.  

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum. Funeral services with military honors will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Jerry Harris officiating. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
