Margaret E. "Skimp" Belda

Mrs. Margaret “Skimp” Belda, age 80, of Newport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2025, after a battle with cancer.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is preceded in death by Parents: Rab and Rema (McGaha) Thornton; Sons: John “Opie” Belda and Glenn Belda and Brothers: Tommy Thornton and James “Bunton” Thornton.

Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, John Belda. Brother: Troy “Tad” (Pat) Thornton. Sister-in-laws: Mary Anderson, Ruth Belda, Judy Thornton, Valerie Thornton. Daughters: Tina (Mike) Sexton, Kathryn (Steve) Jaffray. Sons: Mike (Penny) Dick, Richard Dick, Andrew (Cathy) Belda, and Matthew (Frankie) Belda.

Grandchildren: Angie Williams, Jeremiah Dick, Tyler Dick, Kamen Dick, Ashley Sexton-Gaskill, Dr. Heather Sexton, Emily Sexton, Brittany Belda, Jacob James, Destiny James, Lexie Belda, Brooke Elmore, Nicole Campbell, Nicholas Belda, Dylan Belda, Carter Jaffray, and Nate Jaffray; as well as many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family will gather for an intimate graveside service.
