Mary Lou Sutton, age 79 of Newport, Tn. passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Mary Lou was born on April 7, 1946 in Cocke County, and remained a local resident her entire life. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed porch sitting and spitting. She spent lots of time taking care of her flowers and just loved to cut up with everyone. She is described as really strong and happy little lady.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband William Allen Sutton II; her parents Jim and Glennie Kirkpatrick; brothers, Jimmy Lynn Kirkpatrick, Darrell Kirkpatrick; sisters Nanny Vernie Henderson, Christine Kirkpatrick O'Dell, Martha Owens, Sarah Marie Evans and Rosey Lee Messer; children Wallene Trentham and William Allen Sutton III and great grand child Christian Kirkpatrick.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters Sonny Kirkpatrick, Lori Kirkpatrick Francis Sutton,Dora Kirkpatrick, Charlene Warden and Betty Keasling; children Darlene Worex, Arlene Floyd, Ronnie (Bay) Sutton, Glenda James, and Lonnie Sutton; grandchildren Amber Trentham, Donnie Kirkpatrick, Rocky Joe Worex (Lora), Travis Worex, Eddie and Douglas James, and Derrick Kirkpatrick; great grandchildren (also know as her “Chicken Legs”) Jamison Worex, Presley Worex, Declan Meisenburg, Payton Worex, Zoe Kirkpatrick, Catilin Kirkpatick, Blake Worex, Paisley Worex, Austin Kirkpatick, and Harley Kirkpatrick; great great grand children Gavin Kirkpatrick, and Lydia Kirkpatrick; and her fur grand dog Pepper and many other special family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2025 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum from 12:00 to 2:00pm. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00pm and burial will follow at Union Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband William Allen Sutton II.
