Maxie Wright Fry passed away peacefully on January 25 at Baptist Village Evergreen Nursing Home, Owasso, Oklahoma. She was 90 years old. Maxie was born to John Wesley and Nancy Gordon Wright in Bean Station, Tennessee on May 5, 1931. She is preceded in death by both parents and her six siblings, Lewis G. Wright of Knoxville, Orpha W. Council of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Wendel Wright and Roscoe Wright of Pontiac Michigan, Fern W. Noe and Velma W. Smith of Morristown. Maxie is survived by her daughter, Jennie Fry Lawless and husband William of Owasso, Oklahoma, grandchildren Halie L. Wooton of Queen Creek, Arizona and Natalie E. Lawless of Kansas City, Missouri. Maxie was an active member of First Baptist Church Morristown, for over forty years and a member of the Ambassadors Sunday school. She served as a nurse in the Hamblen County School system for many years and retired from the Hamblen County Election Commission. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and friend, with a giving heart. Due to Covid, there will be no traditional ”receiving of friends”. A private graveside service will be held by the family on Saturday, February 26th at Jarnagin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to First Baptist Church, 504 W.
