Maxine Taylor Obituary

Maxine Gates Taylor, 78, of Newport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4th 2022 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Jim Ike and Eva Lee Gates of Hartford TN; her loving husband of 34 years, Johnny “Keg” Taylor; and beloved furbaby Cooper.

Maxine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Shannon Ball of Port Orange, FL; special friend, Marsha Haney; as well as a host of family and friends.

A private Celebration of Life ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 7 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, per Maxine's request, please make donations to Hearts of Steele Animal Rescue (formerly known as Steele Away Home) or a Humane Society of your choice. Resthaven Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the family.
