Michael Burkey Obituary

Michael Leroy Burkey 86, from Trumbell County, Ohio residing in Dandridge, Tn. since 1987 passed away Monday December 7, 2020. Up until his illness Mike attended The Crossing Church in Kodak, Tn. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Mike enjoyed golfing, square dancing and bowling. He was a welder and truck driver working at General Motors and Co-Op feed Company until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his father Tony Burkey; mother Elisabeth Franklin; sons Brian and Gregory Burkey; brothers Howard, John, Lawerence Burkey; sister Mildred Hawkins. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Mary Burkey; daughter Cindy Cole of Florida; sons John Burkey of Ohio, Richard Burkey of Texas, Kevin Burkey of Texas; brother Jessy Burkey of New York; many nieces, nephews and 13 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
