Nena Lee (Yates) Manning

Nena Lee Manning, born March 6, 1965, in Newport, Tennessee, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 60.

Nena was born and raised in Newport and attended Cosby School from kindergarten through 12th grade. Hardworking was the truest word to describe her—she dedicated her life to providing for her family and instilled the value of perseverance in everyone around her.

She was a loving mother whose greatest joy came from caring for her children and grandchildren. She created a home full of warmth, love, and countless memories, whether through family gatherings or the many sleepovers she hosted for nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nena was preceded in death by her father, Ray Yates; her beloved Granny, Maggie Rathbone; lifelong friend, Sandy Lampkey; and a host of aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her three children: Jonathan Manning (Erika Mathis), Electa Manning, and Jamison Manning, whom she shared with their father, Douglas Manning; her mother, Maxine Yates; and her sisters, Gina Yates and Libby Yates. Nena’s legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Keegan Stuetiville, Kennadie Manning, Ellie Manning, Marlee Mathis, Jonny Manning, and Miles Manning—all of whom she loved deeply. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, Jared Dockery, Lyndsie Dockery, Timothy Humphrey, and Maggie Humphrey, as well as a host of cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Nena held a special bond with Daniel Raines, whom she fondly referred to as her hero and a dear friend to her and her children.

She will forever be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and the love she poured into everyone blessed to know her.
