Richard Cook Obituary

After a courageous 7-year battle with cancer Richard Lee Cook peacefully passed away on Friday, August 19,2022 in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Richard was born on March 8,1948 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to the late Jeet Knowles and Mary Evelyn (De-Turk) Cook.

 
In 1999 Richard fulfilled a life-long dream of working in the medical field when he graduated from the Physician's Assistant program at Mountain State University. After becoming board certified he continued his education by receiving his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska. Richard spent the majority of his medical profession in the state of West Virginia before completing his career working with veterans at the Veterans Administration in Tennessee. The family would like for all his co-worker's and friends to know how much he treasured all your love and support that continued over the years.

 
Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Cook; daughter, Christina Comer; brother, Kenneth Cook; son-in-law, Eugene "Snapper" Moore; father-in-law, Joseph Howard Greene.


Richard is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 43 years, Vicky Greene Cook; his son and 6 daughters, Christy & Edward Reger, Keith & Lynne Cook, Natalie & Richard Dionisio, Heather & Shane King, Marie & Steven Moser, Valorie & Seth Teter, Shannell Cook; brother, Donald & wife Letha Cook; grandchildren, Ashley, Shelby, Chase, Sidney, Makenzie, Mitchell, Alex, Andy, Jonathan, Kristina, Garrett, Steven, Jordan, Dakota, Destiny, Corrin, Maxwell, Lily; sister-in-law, Nancy Cook; daughter-in-law, LeAnn Cook; mother-in-law, Ardis Lilly Greene; along with 12 great grandchildren.


Per Richards wishes a private cremation was held. Richard will later be interred with his wife in the Azel Green Family Cemetery in Ghent, WV. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
