Richard James, a devoted father, son and friend, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, after a battle with an illness. There is so much to say about Richard James. He was a wonderful father and son, the best friend anyone could ever have. If anyone needed anything he would be there no matter the circumstances. He was the guy who never drove past a stranger in need. He was a man who would never let anyone go hungry. He never met a stranger and never judged anyone. He never wanted anything more in this life than to make everyone happy, so he can rest in peace knowing he exceeded his goal. He will be greatly missed and loved forever.
He was a member of the Hamblen County Car Club and Mossy Creek Cruisers. He is retired from White Pine Fire Department and Centerview Fire Department.
Survivors include his loving mom, Linda Gail James of White Pine; sons, Christian James, son of Lora Caylor, Matthew James, son of Amy James, and Louis Skelton, son of Tammy Skelton, his beloved fiancée; brothers, Cleatis James and Travis James; his nephews Noah James and Nathaniel James and his niece Olivia James; numerous aunts and uncles.
He had too many close friends to name, so to anyone reading this or hearing this, if you knew Richard James he loved you.
He was preceded in death by father, Gary James of White Pine; and grandparents, Mark and Edna Buckner of Dandridge, and Samual and Nova James of Newport.
