Richard "Rick" Mohr, 64, of Dandridge, TN, passed away on January 25, 2024. Rick was the founder of Mohr Custom Knives in Dandridge, TN, where he built a thriving knife business alongside his son, Tom. He was known for his innovative and creative approach to his craft, often repurposing old items in new and unique ways. After retiring from knife making, Rick pursued his passion in his wood shop, spending countless hours honing his skills.
Rick was a tradesman through and through, always finding a way to get the job done. He took great joy in teaching these trades to those who shared his interest.
Rick will be remembered by the countless people who he met through his knife shop and woodworking ventures. He leaves behind his beloved son, Thomas Mohr, who was always by his side. He is also survived by his brother, Rob (Karen), and his sisters, Kim and Angela (Dave), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends he acquired over the years.
Rick was preceded in death by his wife, Patti Jo (McCarthy) Mohr, his mother, Mary Mohr, and his father, Richard Mohr.
Services for Rick will be held privately, with interment taking place at a later time. The family kindly requests privacy as they navigate through the grieving process. The caring professionals at RestHaven in Dandridge, TN, are assisting the family with the arrangements.
Rick's passion, creativity, and dedication will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. May he rest in peace.
