Richard “Dickey” Lee Ridenour, age 77, departed this world on Saturday, February 19, 2022 to live eternity with his Heavenly Father. Dickey was proud to have served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Dickey was preceded in death by his older brother Xeno Wilson Ridenour, Jr.; his father and mother, Xeno and Louise Ridenour. He leaves behind his loving and dedicated wife, Kathy, of 48 years, his beautiful daughter Amber, her devoted husband, Scott Moser, and his precious and beautiful granddaughter, Olivia Moser. He is also survived by his sister, Jeannie and brother-in-law, Wayne Hinkle; sister-in-law, Debbie and husband Steve Morie; nephew, John Morie; his grand nephews, Matthew and Caleb Morie. He leaves behind a multitude of special friends who he so dearly loved.
The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Robert G. Thompson with Covenant Health for the care and friendship that he provided to Dickey for many years and especially to Smoky Mountain Hospice for their excellent care and love during Dickey’s time of transition. Special thanks to Charlie Grooms, Tuan Fine, Elena French, Beverly Morgan, and Chaplain Danny Hill with Smoky Mountain Hospice. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the Family Life Center of Swannsylvania Baptist Church, 921 Swannsylvania Road, Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral service will follow, Brother Mike Hensley officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Valor at Resthaven Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service with East Tennessee Veteran Honor Guard will be providing military honors.
