Obituary
Robert “Bob” Joseph Wooten, age 67, of Newport, TN, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023. Bob was a veteran having served in the United States Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne. He later served in the Special Forces. He was most at home in the outdoors. He greatly enjoyed hiking, camping, and experiencing anything with the mountains. Bob shared his love for nature with others through tourism. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for the outdoors and his commitment to serving his country.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Martha Wooten. He leaves behind his loving family: uncle, Walter Johnson; sister, Ella Mae Crum; niece, Theresa Miller; great-niece, Nikki Miller; great-nephews, Jackie Miller and Wayne Miller and several cousins; his special childhood friends, Wayne Sweeten and Tim Heatherly; and his three best buds, Bear, Stuka, and Mouse.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel Mausoleum at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Carroll Miller officiating. Entombment will follow. Family requests that, in lieu of gifts or flowers, donations please be made to Resthaven Funeral Home.
