Robert Lee Tipton, Jr., of Strawberry Plains, passed away surrounded by family Monday, November 8, 2021. Robert was known by everyone as Bobby. He was the old hippy/cowboy that everyone loved. Stubborn as they come with a heart larger than life. He dearly loved his family and knew no stranger. His dogs Prissy and Scrappy meant the world to him. Bobby was an avid outdoors man where he loved to fish and hunt. Bobby also loved his hotrods, motorcycles, NASCAR racing, and watching sports on tv. Bobby was very proud of all his children and grandchildren. There are many great stories that can be told of Bobby through his whole life ranging from life lessons to stubborn ways, and they always produce laughter and smiles. Bobby was dearly loved by his children, sisters, grandchildren, aunt, nephews, and nieces. Bobby will be greatly missed by his family, and all his friends.
Robert was preceded in death by, grandparents, Dave and Ollie Tipton, Elmer and Augusta Keelen; parents, Robert Tipton, Sr., Barbra Tipton; sister, Cathy A. Kirby Northern (Tipton); stepsister, Rebekah Rogers; pet, Prissy Tipton.
He is survived by his children, David (Brandy) Tipton of Jefferson City, TN., Lora (Jeremy) Scalf of Gray, TN., Scotty (Whitney) Sharp of Strawberry Plains, TN., Danny (Bernice) Sharp of Strawberry Plains, TN; sisters, Pam (Kim) Tipton of Seymour, TN., Tammy (Dalton) Yates of Johnsonville, TN; stepmother, Jewell Tipton of Knoxville, TN; stepsisters, Julie Rogers Sherrod of Knoxville, TN., Ashley Rogers of Knoxville, TN; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins; pet, Scrappy Tipton.
Family and friends will meet at 1:45 pm for a 2:00pm graveside service on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Lebanon Cemetery, 714 Lebanon Rd, Jefferson City, TN 37760. Pastor John Ellis is officiating.
