Sarah "Sally" Jane Prater

Sarah “Sally” Smith Prater was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at age 73. She was born in Olney, Illinois, to Lola and Harold Smith, on November 19, 1948. She was one of 8 children: Mike, Milton, Roger, Joe, Susan, Arlon, and Sylvia. She moved to Tennessee after high school, where she lived until passing. She is survived by her 4 children: Doug, Brendan, Rebekah, and Sarah; daughter- and son-in-law Melissa and Neal; and 4 grandchildren: Walker, Magnolia, Sherwood, and Waylon. She loved gardening, crafting, sewing, baking bread, spoiling dogs, and maybe above everything else helping and supporting others – even those she did not know. Sally will be greatly missed.
