Shannon Lynn Smith

Shannon Smith, a devoted husband, loving father and good friend passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 surrounded by his family. Shannon, age 48, of Strawberry Plains, Tn was a 1994 graduate of Jefferson County High School.  After high school, Shannon completed two years at Walters State Community College. He then gained employment with Exedy of America where he dedicated 26 years of hard work. As of recent, he found enjoyment working for Spark Delivery.  Shannon was a known enthusiast for the Tennessee Volunteers.  He was a God-fearing man who loved his family and his friends.  He walked through life with a smile on his face.  He always took interest to all people in a crowded room.  He enjoyed conversation and Football Time in Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by son Rylan Smith and sister Donna Smith Oliver.

Shannon sadly leaves behind his wife Summer Smith; children Collin Lowe, Makenna Smith, Catelyn Lowe, Blake Smith, Colton Claiborne and Channing Smith; parents Allen and Neta Smith, in-laws Bruce (Anne) Claiborne; brother Glenn (Sheila) Smith; nephews Jon (Amber) Smith, Austin (Kymber) Cameron; nieces Tesla (Joey) Metzger, Jessie (Adam) Baker and several cousins; brother-in-laws Heath (Benita) Claiborne, Slade Claiborne (Jennifer), Ty (Lyndsay) Claiborne; sister-in-laws Shea (Rick) Long, Blair (Brian) Baldwin, nephews Bryson Claiborne, Rhett Claiborne, Brody Baldwin and Barrett Baldwin; nieces Logan Long, Emma Arrowood and Abi Watson.  Special friend Jody Cameron and special family members Sara Upton-Smith, Crayten Jones, Samara Hurd and Norma (Larry) Collins.

The family would like to welcome friends and those that loved Shannon to visitation on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at New Hope Baptist Church located at 1105 Reed Bull Rd- New Market, Tn. 37820 Funeral Service will begin at 6:00pm with Roger Smith and Jeff Breeden officiating. Burial will be Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11:00am at Shady Baptist Church Cemetery located at 4825 Shady Rd - Strawberry Plains, TN. 37871.
