Shirley (Haney) James

Shirley Haney James, age 66 of Del Rio, TN, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at her home; she was of the Baptist faith. Shirley loved playing and singing music, fishing, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Richard and Hattie Haney; brothers, Howard Haney, Rev. Wayne Haney, Dean Haney and Donald Stevie Haney; sisters-in-laws, Alice and Geraldine Haney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dave and Lura James; brother-in-law, Bruce James; nieces, Janette Wells and April Denise Haney. She is survived by her husband, John James; daughters, Rixie (Sherwin) Ballard, Virginia (Tim) Fann; grandchildren, Matthew, Stevie, and Cheyenne Ballard, Lura Mae and April Fann; brothers, Henry Haney, Danny (Tammy) Haney; sisters-in-law, Nellie Haney, Terry Haney, Liz Wells and Lara James; special aunt, Dorothy Justice; special daughter, Ada Groom; special nieces, Angela Haney, Chelsea Ballard and Ginny James; special nephews, Dustin Ballard, David James; best friend, Louise Moore and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt and uncles.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel  at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends will gather Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Stokely Cemetery in Del Rio, TN for burial.
