Urban Michael Fee, age 74, of Dandridge passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. His sister was by his side, to love on him and say goodbye, as he entered into eternal rest.
Urban also known as “Mike” was a master barber and owner/operator of Fee’s Barber Shop in downtown Dandridge, TN established in 2000. He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1969. At Sullivan High School he received letters in Track in the years 1967,1968, and 1969. He was also recognized for his perfect attendance his senior year of high school. Upon graduation from high school, Urban was called to serve his country in 1969. Fee was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. serving in Vietnam. Urban received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. After returning from the war in 1971 he graduated from Tri-Cities Regional Vocational Technical School in 1973. Urban began working at Levi Strauss and Company in 1976 as a denim cutter. By 1979 he took his work ethic to Bike Athletic in Knoxville, TN. He soon took on management responsibility working at Bankston’s “Ace Hardware” Company from 1981 – 1989 as an Operations Manager and then House-Hasson Hardware Co. It was in 1991 that Urban began his life long career as a barber. He opened up his first Barber Shop in Halls, Tn. In March 2000, he established Fee’s Barber Shop in Dandridge, TN. where he made many special friendships with his longtime customers over the years. Fee was diagnosed with cancer, that originated with agent orange in 2021. However, being the warrior that he was, he continued to work daily until his health declined in 2024. He was a resident of Baneberry, TN during his early barber shop days. He enjoyed hiking, biking, boating, lake activities, and being on the golf course. He made many special memories with his friends and neighbors at the golf resort.
Urban is preceded in death by his father Howard K. Fee and mother Joyce Gay Adams. He is survived by one son Michael Kane Wright; wife Jama Wright; step father George Clinton (June) Adams; brother Howard “Tennessee”(Donna) Fee; sisters Cindy (Rodney) Hentchel and Tammy (Dan) Wilder-Warner; aunt Patsy Street; grandsons Kane Fee Wright, Allister Wright; granddaughters Kaleigh Wright, Keely Wright, Teona Arnett; great grand children Kanoa Moore and Hazel Carter; nephew Dustin Wilder and niece Jessica(Jonathon) Harb.
A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum in Dandridge, TN. at 2:00pm
