Veronica Joan Rector

Veronica Joan Rector, a loved Mother, Mamaw, Great Grand maw, Aunt and Friend, passed away surrounded by family on September 21, 2025, at the age of 82.  She was born June 14, 1943, in Newport, TN to Earl and Sue Pritchard.

Joan will be remembered by her fun personality that led to endless adventures and “Mamaw Stories”.  Joan was full of unwavering strength and infectious laughter.  She never missed a shopping trip with her daughters regardless of her failing health.  She enjoyed all things UT VOLS and loved cheering on her Big Orange.  She would push herself to attend as many family events as she could.  Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Veronica Joan Rector was preceded in death by her Husband Dallas Rector, Mother Sue Pritchard, Father Earl Pritchard, Sisters Joyce Lane, Virginia Rick, Earlene Thornton, Jackie Gilbert, Pat Smelcer, Infant Brother Pritchard, and Stepson Mike Rector. 

Joan is survived by her daughters, Denise Clevenger Worley and Rhonda Clevenger Middleton (David McNeely); grandchildren Derek (Nayfe) Worley, Danielle Worley, Sydnee (Peyton) Broyles, Mason (Baylee) Middleton, Brett Rector, Wesley Rector; great grandsons Bo Broyles, Declan Worley, and Bennett Broyles. Several Nieces and Nephews and great Nieces and Nephews.  Joan will also be missed by her loyal fur baby “Mabel”

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens (2642 E. Hwy 25/70 Dandridge, TN. 37725) with Rich Lloyd officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations please be made to First Baptist Church, Newport, TN.
