Victor Lee Costner June 18, 1947-May 1, 2023
Victor L. Costner passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side. Victor proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Victor enlisted in the United States Army on July 13, 1966, and was honorably discharged on July 12, 1968. While serving he received the highest honors including Vietnam-Bronze Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Company Battalion Post Soldier of the Month. He was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 2372, and a lifetime member of the DAV Chapter 102.
Victor is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Tabatha Lynne Costner; infant grandson Kade Monroe Costner; parents Monroe and Edith Costner; father and mother-in-law George Ray (Flea) and Christeen (Suze) Stinson.
Victor is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Edna Ray Costner; son and daughter-in-law Darrin and Kim Costner; adored grandsons Drue and Jude Costner. He is also survived by his brothers Steve (Gwen) Costner, James (Karen) Costner; sisters Donna (Bob) Muncy, Judy Hall; special niece Mandi (Ben) Susong with children Keegan Allen and JT Hickman along with a host of beloved nieces and nephews. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to SMHHH and Jan Brooks for all of their thoughtfulness and care during this time.
The family will have a visitation from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum on Saturday, May 6, 2023 and a funeral service will follow conducted by Tiger Gullett. Military honors will be held at the graveside to conclude.
