Walter Wallace Sutton, 81, passed away peacefully at home following a brave and lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and an employee of American Enka for approximately 40 years.
Walt was preceded in death by his loving wife, Freida Gail Welch Sutton; parents, Clara and Garrison Hurst and Al Sutton; sisters, Mildred Blazer and Betty Freshour; brother, Harold Sutton; mother- and father-in-law, Gladys and James Welch; sisters-in-law, Patsy Sutton and Johnnie Welch; brother-in-law, Jimmy Welch; and son-in-law, Harold Crum.
Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, Scottie and Mona Sutton; daughters, Marcie Sutton Crum and Jodie Sutton Webb; grandchildren, Kristen Shults, Isaac and Will Sutton, Hannah, and Hayden Webb; great-granddaughter, Kennedi Griffin; sister-in-law and husband, Judy and George Calfee; and brother-in-law, Bill Freshour. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to UT Hospice and his sitters, Barbara Cole, Christina Core, Christy Huff, and Tami Potter.
He was cremated per his request and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
