Wayne Derry Jr. Obituary

In Loving memory of My Father , Wayne Joseph Derry Jr.

Wayne Derry Jr. passed away on December 7th unexpectedly. He is survived by his brothers Steve, Andy, and Greg Derry. He is preceded in death by his daughter Elleena Derry and mother Pam; both his parents, his brother Dan and sister Jane Derry. My father was a great man, and I am deeply hurt that this has happened, we spent almost every day of my life together. Through the ups and downs he was always by my side whenever I needed help or got in a bind. He was there to answer any questions I had and was extremely smart and caring to everyone. Most may know him from his rants and long conversations that I will now miss deeply as I want hear those anymore. I want get the calls or the messages and this hits really hard. He was a great dad to me and my sister and did everything he could have to make sure we were taken care of and safe. He worked so hard and often too hard he did not have much time to himself to enjoy things in life . I wish that life would have given him more years to enjoy the things he wanted to do such as gold mining prospecting, traveling, camping , enjoying nature and all god's gifts. I feel he did not deserve the life he had for everything he did for everyone he suffered deeply emotionally , mentally, and physically towards the end and I wish he would have got help but he was not the type to show anything nor take any help from anyone . He always had me outside or in garage working with him all the time and I’m glad that I did get that time with him, and our relationship got better it really makes me happy to know how proud he was of my accomplishments . We definitely had a bond that could not be broken, and I know he will be watching over me and I will make him proud as he would say never give up and that’s what I intend to do. My father Wayne was also a veteran with the following awards I thought I would share with you all Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Navy Expeditionary Medal , and Admiral Flatley Memorial Award. Wayne was a great engineer and could always get something to work no matter what he had he could always come up with a plan to “complete the mission “ . I love my father deeply and I hope as time passes, we can all remember him for all the great things he did and the service he gave, most of all being such an amazing father. I could not have asked for a better dad. The following were his last words of will. A quote, “ Dear family and friends I guess life has taken another turn for us all but don’t forget that this is all part of life here on earth though we may not always understand its timely ways we will all go on to our destinies. Make no mistake about it, you all have given me a full and wonderful life experience which I will internally cherish and will serve me well in my new beginning of my next destiny of gods will. But rest assured that I will always be a part of you and most of all you a part of me . I know you feel badly but those feelings will pass in time. You guys know me best , make me proud and don't dwell too long on our loss. You know that's not what I would want . Know this that I will be watching over you with all my being and will be there for you always and when our beings meet in heaven, live long and happy with all my love and soul I'll be with you always. I'm on the way with all of you right in my heart ….GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU . With that said let us pray and take care of ourselves and live life to the fullest.
