Wayne Gray

Terry “Wayne” Gray passed away at ParkWest Medical Center on 11/8/20 at 3:43pm from complications related to COVID. He is survived by his wife Sheila Gray of Knoxville, TN, sister and brother in law Linda and Robert Whittenberg of Joelton, TN, nephews Joshua and John Adam Whittenberg of Joelton, TN, daughter and son in law Susanne and Jamie Farmer of Hendersonville, TN , granddaughter Lily Walker of Hendersonville, TN and daughter Shannon Haley of Hermitage, TN. He was loved by his in laws Betty Bonham, Barry and Arlene Thornton and Taylor Thornton of Chestnut Hill, TN and Lesha Thornton of Bangor, ME. Wayne was loved by many more family members, co-workers and clients.
Wayne worked for many years for the Ford Motor Company and really enjoyed his job. He had many interests and loved fly fishing, diving, camping, gardening and canning. He definitely didn’t need much encouragement to cook, especially grilling on his Green Egg. His favorite charity was St. Jude’s Hospital. Words cannot express how much he was loved and what a void he is leaving for his family and friends. His departure from this world will be felt deeply by all.
We would like to thank the staff at ParkWest on the 5th floor as well as the CCU/ICU. They were very supportive and caring. Thank you especially to Katie RN who told us she held Wayne’s hand as he passed.
